»Remains of ’House’« is a collection of found objects from former 193 Grove Road, Bow – today’s Wennington Gardens in the East End of London. This is the site where Rachel Whiteread created the sculpture »House«, completed in October 1993. The following month Whiteread was awarded the Turner Prize for her work but in January 1994, the The London Borough of Tower Hamlets demolished the sculpture. The collection of remaining fragments presented by Daniel Hoflund – displayed in a similar tradition to artefacts in museums – points to definitions of value, history writing, heritage, preservation and museology.
